Objet Polyjet produces High Quality Plastic models in a number of different materials. The maximum build size is 297 x 200 x 150mm and the turnaround is usually 1-2 days. Parts have a mix of a glossy finish and a matte finish depending on whether support material is present. We advise that wall are at least 1mm in thickness and that features are no smaller than 0.2mm. Printing lines are hidden with polyjet as it prints with 28 micron layers instead of the typical 100-200 microns. Due to limitations with the technology high details are lost in the X-Y direction so we advise SLA for any objects (such as Jewellery) which have detailed features.
Polypropylene-Like - Objet DurusWhite is a material which has similar properties to polypropylene.
Rigid Opaque photopolymer - provide excellent detail visualization in gray, black, white and blue. You can 3D print accurate, attractive prototypes that test fit, form and function, even for moving and assembled parts. You can also produce smooth, accurate jigs, fixtures and manufacturing tooling
PolyJet prototyping technology is used to build your design with this material. Objet’s patented PolyJet inkjet technology works by jetting photopolymer materials in ultra-thin layers onto a build tray, layer by layer, until the model is completed. Each photopolymer layer is cured by UV light immediately after being jetted, producing fully cured models that can be handled and used immediately. The gel-like support material, which is specially designed to support complicated geometries, can easily be removed by hand and water jetting.
- Support material is printed together with the model. It has to be removed and limits the freedom of design.
- Post finishing a high quality model with paint is possible but leads to a possible loss of detail.
